Youth parliament in Pakistan

Youth parliament in Pakistan is the new concept which is launched 2007 by the Pakistan institution of legislative development and transparency. The idea of behind youth parliament is to engage the youth in healthy activities they want to polish the political skills of youth which help them in better policy making. This is mainly focus on the youth in country and youth awareness of politics and democracy by providing the education and training. Pakistan institute of development and transparency thought that without youth involvement in democratic and political issues work is not done either its involvement is minor like as a voter and citizens.
In youth parliament the age limit of the candidate should be the 18 to 29 years old this age limit is currently declare in 2012. Member of the youth parliament is selected once a year. The first batch of the youth parliament is selected in 2007, than onwards see in 2008-9, 2009-10 respectively. The total member of youth parliament is 60.  This is divided by places such as Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Baluchistan, tribal areas, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit baltistan.
The creation of youth parliament has the vision of conceptualizing and planned to execute empower of youth of Pakistan with the capability to understand the importance of their role in the community services and to support their leadership qualities. 
The aims and objectives of the youth parliament is

  • To develop and enhance the moral values in the youth.
  • To create democratic values in the youth of Pakistan.
  • Train them for the leadership, citizenship , and the ability of governance in youth of Pakistan
  • To promote tolerance, modernization, originality, and independence.
  •  To do legislation,
  • Create debating quality on national and international matter.
  • To change government without recourse to civil disorder.
  • To make and enforce their own rules of conduct.

youth parliament cabinet has six member and along with standing committee and business advisory committee. In youth parliament there are two types of art 1st is liberal and 2nd is traditional the minimum days of working of is 30 days at the five session in year.
The youth Pakistan parliament program currently is supported by the Royal Danish Embassy in Islamabad. Every year the batches of youth parliament is introduced and training done.

Recently in Islamabad 27 June in 2014 the last session of the 6th batch takes the oath  and where saw the youth prime  minister announced the youth cabinet in which Ms. Sakina Gulab for youth minister for education, for youth affairs Mr Asmatullah Asmi , for foreign affairs M. Sayed Muhammad Abdullah and so on.The 6 youth parliament Pakistan is supported by the Danish international development agency, Government of Denmark.
